Mount Airy, NC-February 28, 2006- "Charlie X", a futuristic tragedy, is the first book written by a brother and sister team. This unusual story is told from a very unique perspective. The authors C.J. and Tabatha Edwards are only 16 and 14 years old.
Part fantasy and part science fiction, "Charlie X" explores the question "why can't people treat each other with dignity?" The lead character of the book "Charlie" is very short for his age. Because of his size, he is bullied and picked on by everyone including his parents. As an adult, the bullying continues until a rock from outer space transforms the small man into a giant. Charlie grows to an enormous size, beyond the point to which his loving wife and children are able to care for him.
This captivating story takes place in an airy Las Vegas setting. Charlie's life is cruel and unfair. People made fun of him and embarrassed him because he was different. Charlie was a great man and loved by his wife and kids and all he ever wanted was for others to treat him with dignity and respect. The story is unforgettable and there is a lot to be learned from the complex characters.
About the Authors: C.J. and Tabatha Edwards wrote "Charlie X" with very minimal editing help from their father David Edwards. They started writing the book without their parents knowledge. Their father said "I had no idea they were writing a book until they asked me to edit it. There aren't any writers in our family and I am an accountant, so I don't know where they got it from".
